The following are some testimonies from a recent “Single Mom’s” conference that was held at the Inn in Schroon Lake, NY. There were 62 Moms and 114 kids in attendance:
- One of the ladies that brought a group asked me if we could celebrate the birthday of a little girl whose dad had just died either three weeks or three months ago (I can’t remember which.) He had promised her a pool party for her birthday…so we did so on Friday night! As Paul Harvey would say…”now the rest of the story” – The dad had been involved in various relationships over the past couple of years and died of Aids. His wife said, “the one thing I can be thankful for is that neither my kids nor myself got Aids.”
- The Inn Ministry Team, By Faith Ladies Ensemble and WOLBI Drama Team were totally involved in the lives of the families. The pool was packed with kids climbing all over the students and loving every minute of it. They cared for the “itty Bitty’s” in day care, taught the juniors and teens, talked, shared and challenged kids all weekend. They also carried luggage, at with families and served the family of God. I received a phone call and an email from long time friends of WOL asking if we could provide some special care for a mom that wanted to bring her three sons, Mike, Nick and Jeremy. Jeremy has Downs Syndrome and Autism. Karalie Gray shared the need at a BI chapel for someone to work with Jeremy and a BI student (Jared) stepped up and offered to work with him all weekend. Jared blessed that family far beyond what we could know. Her other two sons LOVED being here. I just received an email from the lady that set if up…” Thanks again for your help with Teresa’s children. The staff did an outstanding job with Jeremy. Teresa told us when she saw us that the weekend was too great and too short.”
- I had lunch with a mom and her kids. Her daughter is a senior and son (Damien) is nine years old. I asked if their dad is involved in their lives. She said he lives 20 minutes away with his new wife and two children. She said, “my kids have just had their last visit with their father. He wants nothing to do with them anymore since he has a new family. She said Damien craves male attention and still communicates with the BI student who he bonded with last year. This year it was Dave and he has Dave’s email address and phone number. His mom also told me that Damien responded to the gospel invitation that Jeremy gave on Saturday night.
- Our speaker, Joyce King, told me a mom talked to her about accepting Christ as her Savior. She then told Joyce she wasn’t ready yet. Joyce reviewed the Gospel message with her and told her she could trust Christ any time. This mom shared with one of our staff that she struggles with drugs and alcohol but wants to be a godly example for her kids.
- Jane came with her son Jessie, age 18. Last year when they were here, Jessie was battling depression and had threatened suicide. Thankfully he came through that dark time and is doing very well now. Joyce shared with the ladies on Sunday morning that her son committed taking his life this past fall. Jane then talked with Joyce and was encouraged to hear how God has brought her though all of that.
- I talked with a mom on Saturday night named Mayra. She came with the group from Hawthorne Gospel church. We talked about the Spanish Family conference in the fall and she was very excited to go home to tell her home church about it and get them here.
- Gloriann shared her testimony on Saturday. Several women are still struggling with issues in their lives since childhood and through what Gloriann shared, they are beginning to get past their past.
- One mom and her daughter were checking out yesterday and said, “we just can’t wait until next year to come back so we’re coming back to spend a week this summer!”

7800 young people hear the Gospel in Romania!

Country/Location: Romania
A team from the United States has helped us start a puppet ministry with our students. They were trained for two weeks and then went right to work in schools and kindergartens. In two weeks we had thirty-five presentations and over 2500 children heard the gospel. Now we have a great new ministry that is being used for the glory of God!
Over a period of two months we were able to hold 36 presentations where 5300 people heard the Gospel. Hundreds of souls came to know Christ as their Savior. Praise the Lord!
Our Fascar track is here!! It was used already by Brian in a church outside of Memphis, TN with about 20 children accepting Christ as their Savior. The following testimony will give you a glimpse of why we wanted to get involved in Fascar:
A pastor’s wife in Findlay,OH, shared this testimony of a child who prayed for his Mom.
“During the registration of a recent FasCar event I noticed a mom I didn’t recognize, sitting off by herself. I sat beside her, introduced myself, and met her son, who was an invited guest. She was there because she was a good mom, wanting to know what her son had been invited to and to share the racing event with him. Since she was alone I spent a good share of time with her.
When Rich gave the invitation the Mom responded right along with the kids and as one of the counselors I asked if I could pray with her. I was concerned when her 3rd grade son followed us to the counseling area and I was going to encourage him to go with another counselor, but God set a seal before my mouth!
I asked her why she had come and she stated to accept Christ, and then I asked Noah why he had come. He replied that he had been praying for his Mom and he had come to see her get saved. I asked if he had accepted Christ personally and he said, “Last summer at church camp.” I followed with, “Did you ever share that with anyone?” And his reply, “As soon as my mom picked me up at camp I told her. And, I have tried to talk to her about it several times since then.” His mom’s response, “This is what you were talking about?”
Noah’s family went to church because Mom felt it looked good in the community, because church kids usually turned out better than other kids, and because it was a free family activity. Pastor Bill had talked about salvation and our need to confess our sins, but mom really never understood that she had to ask for forgiveness. Rich’s illustration really started her thinking…it was a free gift, something she didn’t have to work for and she had to accept it personally. It wasn’t her gift until she accepted it!
That Saturday, I Corinthians 5:3 was played out… a pastor had sown the seed, a friend with an invitation watered. Rich with a FasCar message watered some more, and a child prayed. God gave the increase.” (LCM Missionary to Ohio, Rich Moon, was coordinator for the Fascar event in Findlay.)
