Hanna tried her best to ruin the conference but she just wasn’t big enough!! We aren’t talking about some out of control two year-old but Tropical Storm Hanna which was the remnants of Hurricane Hanna that had caused destruction in portions of the Caribbean. This storm traveled up the east coast through
North Carolina on September 6th, the day we had our Flashpoint conference scheduled. Here in Raleigh, we received quite a bit of rain and some wind but nothing too damaging. The path and intensity of these storms aren’t easily predicted so about half of the crowd originally scheduled to attend the conference decided that they should stay close to their homes.
We can’t say we blame them because we know of at least one family who lost the vinyl siding off one side of their home. We are a little disappointed, though, because we had a lot of good information to share with our leaders. We will be traveling to the churches throughout Eastern North Carolina to share some of this information.
